I teach courses in the history of medicine, African history and the history of gender and sexuality.

At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, I am currently offering a 6-week public course on “Women in Medicine” which explores topics such as the history of sex and gender within medical research, the medicalization of childbirth in the US, women as health workers, and the history of reproductive coercion in California and the United States, and resulting health activism through the lens of Reproductive Justice.

At Loyola Marymount University, I offered introductory lecture courses including “Africa 1800-Present” and “Modern World History 1450-Present”. I also taught upper-level seminars such as “Colonial Africa”, “Global Health in African History” and “Gender and Sexuality in African History”.

I have also taught courses on African History, African Studies, Caribbean History, and the History of Health and Medicine as a Teaching Fellow in the Columbia University History Department and the Barnard College History Department.
